The Class of ‘91 was given the opportunity to tour the new facilities at LHS in early August in conjunction with our reunion weekend. Thanks to VP Chris Brida we got to see the many great spaces where innovative learning will be taking place. The classes offered will offer great learning opportunities and activities for students. It’s great to see LHS offering amazing electives such as cooking and robotics in beautiful spaces. Seeing the Hal Hart Library in the room dedicated to the Constitution Team was extra special for those of us who had Mr. Hart as our softball coach in middle school at West Sylvan. The new gym and workout facilities are state of the art and impressive. Another favorite was seeing the library and hearing the story of the check out desk being made from a tree that stood almost in that exact spot, which used to be at the far end of the track. We climbed the steps to the 6th floor to get a view of the old building and to try to visualize the new sports facilities. Finishing off our tour we got to see the new cafeteria which also took us back to the main entrance. We enjoyed seeing the new building, and many of us were jealous at the opportunities future Cards will have. Kristina Chapman Blin, ‘91 | LHS ‘91 classmates gather in the front office |
